Trump, Healthcare, and Seniors

Donald Trump was recently elected as the next President of the United States. How will this affect seniors and healthcare?

As for Medicare, Donald Trump has not stated his position on allowing older adults ages 55 to 64 to buy in to Medicare. Trump supports repealing the ACA, which would  mean repealing the law’s Medicare provisions. As for Trumps stance on prescription drugs, he supports allowing safe re-importation of prescription drugs from other countries.

According to Howard Gleckman of Forbes.com, “The election of Donald Trump, along with continued Republican majorities in the House and Senate, will likely result in major cuts in federal programs that benefit older adults and younger people with disabilities.” Find out what those cuts might be below.
