Walmart is launching Walmart Insurance Services, which will help seniors enroll in Medicare plans by local and national carriers in all 50 states and D.C. Plans will include Medicare Advantage, Part D, and Medigap options.
Walmart to sell top carriers
Carriers Walmart will sell include:
- Humana
- UnitedHealthcare
- Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Amerigroup
- Simply Health
- Wellcare (Centene)
- Clover Health
- Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield
Walmart Insurance Services general manager David Sullivan said, “We want customers to feel confident in selecting a Medicare plan that best fits their needs, budget, and lifestyle. And we want to be a trusted partner on their health care journey.”
Medicare plans through Walmart will be available beginning October 15 and running through December 7, during Medicare’s open enrollment period.
Other Medicare providers compete
Other large Medicare Advantage carriers are expanding into more U.S. counties this fall to compete for seniors’ business, including Humana, CVS Health’s Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealth Group.
